Winter Windjammer Dinner

A fundraiser for the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse!

Saturday, March 1st

6:00-9:00 pm at The Carriage House in Thomaston, ME.

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased on the Carriage House’s website: Purchase Here!

Can’t make the event but would like to help the lighthouse? You can make a donation HERE and we’ll include it in our final donation amount. Thank you!

Join us for an evening of food, wine, and community celebrating our local windjammer history. Chef Anna Miller of the Schooner Ladona & Chef O.B. O’Brian from the Schooner Lewis R. French will be creating and executing a menu that will delight you, and the captains themselves will be pouring the wine.

The evening’s menu:

  • A selection of artisan cheeses and charcuterie with classic accoutrements
  • Green salad
  • Fresh fish with ginger scallion sauce and black bean vinaigrette over julienned vegetables and rice (additional sauces available as well)
  • The evening will end with apple hand pies and maple whipped cream
  • Wine is included.

The cozy ambiance of the The Carriage House in Thomaston is reminiscent of a windjammer galley with its wood stove and communal dining. The captains of many of Maine Windjammer Association’s windjammers will be there to talk about what the windjammers do, what the galleys are like and what they see out on Penobscot Bay all spring, summer and fall. Rockland Harbormaster Molly Eddy will also be there to fill you in on the latest news on the lighthouse projects.

About your chefs:

Schooner Ladona’s Chef Anna Miller has been cooking on Maine’s windjammers for twenty years. Anna has always felt at ease in the kitchen, thanks to her Italian grandmothers. She is a creative and warm soul who enjoys combining new flavors while honoring classic dishes.

Schooner Lewis R. French’s O.B. O’Brien has done it all on the windjammers. From being a deckhand, the first-mate and now chef for the last four years, he knows every aspect of windjamming. He has a passion for exploring historical cookbooks such as New England based American Frugal Housewife and enjoys cooking in a similar setting on the French’s wood cookstove.

Captains and owners:

Captain Noah Barnes and Jane Barrett Barnes of Schooner Stephen Taber and Schooner Ladona.

Captain Becky Wright and Nathan Siguoin of Schooner Lewis R. French

Captain Tyler King of Schooner American Eagle
